Helping Teen Girls—and the Families Who Love Them—Navigate What Comes Next
With over a decade of experience supporting teenagers and their families, I know firsthand how overwhelming adolescence can be—not just for teens, but for the people who love them. Below you’ll find an overview of the services I offer, along with how I approach working with both teens and parents.
Therapy for Teens
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR TEEN GIRLS
Adolescence is a time of massive change, identity exploration, and emotional growth—and it can feel incredibly heavy. If your daughter is struggling to cope with everyday stress or just doesn’t seem like herself lately, therapy can offer a safe space for her to feel seen, heard, and supported.
Your teen may benefit from therapy if she:
Feels overwhelmed by the pressures of school and academic expectations
Is stuck in a cycle of perfectionism and self-criticism
Seems withdrawn or disconnected from friends and family
No longer enjoys the hobbies or activities she once loved
Struggles with anxiety, emotional outbursts, or persistent low mood
Has a hard time identifying or expressing her feelings

FAMILY THERAPY
I believe that teens make the most meaningful progress when their parents are actively involved in the process. At the same time, I also believe that teenagers need a space that’s entirely their own—where they can explore their thoughts and feelings without the pressure of the family dynamic in the room.
Because of this, I do not provide both individual and family therapy to the same client. In some cases, I serve as the individual therapist for a teen and refer the family to a trusted colleague for family therapy. In other cases, I serve as the family therapist, and the teen is referred out for their own one-on-one work. This structure allows each person in the family to have the space and support they need.
No matter the configuration, my policy is firm:
I only work with teens whose parents are also engaged in their own support.
That may look like family therapy, parent coaching, individual therapy, or participation in a group such as Al-Anon. I’ve found that lasting progress happens when the entire family system is invested in change—not just the teen.
Surrounded by Support
COORDINATED CARE
Healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum—especially for teens. I often collaborate with other providers (such as psychiatrists, school counselors, pediatricians, or other therapists) to ensure your teen’s care is consistent, thoughtful, and well-integrated.
With your consent, I’ll stay in touch with the key members of your teen’s support team so we’re all working toward the same goals.
